We are always bird watching and excited to see blue herons. Tall and gangly, slow and deliberate in the water and magnificent to see take off or float in to land. I found this type of quilt made of triangles and I kept seeing those old cardboard egg boxes that held 24 dozen eggs. When viewed at an angle you can see down into each little “compartment”. So as I painted this I began to envision the surface of the water was a mix between 3-D and flat shapes. To me the water appeared “pixelated” to use the term loosely. I do like to play with your mind when I can. I decided in the process to include some water plants. I also enjoyed the double meaning of the word “solution”.
