Three artists (Rex Miller, Jean Jensen and Dennis Miller Jr.), inspired by their mother, Lucille Miller’s poem SET FIRE, along with Dennis’ wife Cynthia, have created an extraordinary facility in the village of Lewellen, one of many small western towns which has been shrinking in population and businesses for the past fifty years.

An independent, family-owned magazine, located in a storefront office in downtown Norfolk. Writers and photographers from around the state contribute to make the publication one of Nebraska’s best resources for travel and entertainment information. Nebraska Life also explores the state’s culture, heritage, and natural surroundings.
Impact
A non-profit Nebraska visual arts organization. It was founded in 1985 with a mission to educate through outreach programs and exhibitions. Impact maintains a membership of twenty-five to thirty Nebraskans. Members work in a broad range of disciplines, styles, and directions. From its inception, Impact has been recognized for its record of professionalism and creative expression.
Petrified Wood and Art Gallery
The Petrified Wood Gallery is a showcase of natural history specializing in ancient woods and fossils from around the world plus Native American arrowheads and artifacts — many from within 25 miles of Ogallala. The collection is a result of the efforts of brothers Howard and Harvey Kenfield who began collecting in the 1950’s. In 2000, the Kenfields donated their collection for display in Ogallala and for the benefit of the general public.
