I had a canvas and painted designs on it that reminded me of Native American designs and colors. Then it sat in my studio for months because I couldn’t figure out what to do with it. Coming across a photo of a little towhee from a vacation we took about 10 years earlier, I decided these triangular shapes reminded me of tipis.
